Last Day

Over the past several months I have struggled with a perpetual need for balance and control over my own destiny. After much thought, prayer and conversation with my husband. We have decided to step out of our comfort zone and start our own business. Today is my last day in my current job. I can honestly say that it is bitter-sweet.

While I am so excited to take this leap of faith and try to pave my own path, I am so sad to leave a place that has molded me and taught me so much over the past three and a half years. I know that this is the right decision at this moment in my life, but it is so hard to leave the comfort of employment, relationships and routine.

None-the-less, I am proud to say that we are pursuing a life we love. We are revitalizing his late-father’s Antique Business in an up-and-coming area of town. We hope to create a healthy work/life balance for our future family and set an example for our future children.

I can honestly say that this decision did not happen overnight, but sometimes you must go for it. We came to a point in our discussions about starting this adventure
where we asked the question, “what are we waiting for?”. When we could not answer that question, we decide to give notice to our employers two days later.

There is never the perfect time to take a risk. Life is too short to sit and wait for the perfect moment, situation or time to pursue your dreams. We may fail, but I am thrilled to be able to say, “we tried”. What are you waiting for? What dream are you putting on the back burner? Stop waiting for the “right” time and follow your heart.
