If knowledge is power and ignorance is bliss, which do you choose? Like everything in life, there are two sides to everything. Almost everything is a double edge sword.
As I have spent more and more time reflecting on life and what I experience day to day I have come to realize that nothing is truly consistent. Some days we know everything and we are in full control. These days can feel really good because, let’s be real, we all want to have power over our own lives.
However, there are other times when we are glad we did not have more information. Sometimes too much information and knowledge can over complicate simple problems. Sometimes we need to plead ignorance or ask for forgiveness rather than permission.
You see, neither philosophy holds true in every situation. In fact, there are plenty of times when these ideals are only half right and fall into the gray area of our understanding. There is a time and place for knowledge and ignorance.
It is important that we allow ourselves to adapt. Learn when necessary, but be ok with not knowing the all answers. There is more power in ignorance than most people realize. When we are ignorant, but open to learning, we hold all the power to create real change. The same holds true for knowledge, it can provide bliss when we are able to use that knowledge for good.
The real purpose of these polar opposites is to drive us to be better and use our unique thoughts and experiences for good. If we do not keep our focus on the positives then what use is our power or bliss? So today I ask, how will you to share your power and spread your bliss?
Inspiring post. Staying positive, being grateful for my blessings , making a goal to help & give helps me stay at peace , calm, blissful.
