Do you find yourself obsessing about certain thoughts or ideas? Are they far fetched, or Logo_with_Brick_450x could you realistically obtain the things or ideas you continuously think about? Sometimes you just have to obsess about things until they happen and sometimes you have to let go of your infatuations.

In regard to our dreams, only those who do will achieve them. Only people who are willing to put in the work and pursue their passions with an undying obsession and determination will meet their goals. Dreaming is great, but without action those dreams will never become a reality.

The word obsession gets a bad wrap. It is associated with a lack of control and relentlessness only found in a crazy person. But, the reality is that if you truly pursue your dreams there will be people that call you crazy and think you are out of your mind. Because when it comes to your destiny, you must be obsessed.

Obsessions are merely persistent thoughts that drive us toward are strongest desires. The key to utilizing our obsessions for good is just like anything else, balance. A perfect example is my writing every day. It is in the back of my mind all the time, but I only set aside time to do it when it is appropriate and then move on. This is my current obsession and passion.

If we truly want to achieve our dreams we have to pursue them endlessly. I call it being obsessed, but you can call it whatever you want. The bottom line is summed up perfectly by Franz Kafka, “Don’t bend; don’t water it down; don’t try to make it logical; don’t edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly.” Simply get out and do it.
