“I hated every minute of training, but I said, “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” – Muhammad Ali
This quote gives me courage. Have you ever endured anything that you hated every minute of, but later realized it was all for good? Have you ever suffered and then been rewarded for your suffering?
The things my husband and I are dealing with, in regard to his grandmother’s estate, has been rough. We have filled more than four 30 yard dumpsters and still have at least two left. While we are blessed beyond measure to have the ability to deal with her things the “right” way, it has been nothing short of exhausting.
To hear that Muhammad Ali was miserable in his training and yet see the amazing life and legacy he had is encouraging. So many times in life we are tested. We are tested, physically, mentally and emotionally. However, it is all about our resilience.
If you can push through the trials life has put you up against, you will reap unimaginable benefits. I cannot tell you exactly what my life will look like when this is all said and done, but I can tell you I will get past it. Sometimes, to get to the good stuff you have to go through shit. The saying is true, hard work pays off.
