Lack of Sleep

It is truly amazing how lack of sleep can affect your mood and the next day. Last night I imagesgot about 5 hours of sleep. For me, this is very bad, as I tend to need 7.5 to 8 hours to feel normal.

To say that I am out of sorts would be an understatement. I am unfocused, melancholy and of course, exhausted. Sleep is the body’s way of disconnecting. It is the very necessary time for our minds to rest and process the day we just had.  Without adequate amounts, it can be tough to feel our best.

So, how do you push through the day on lack of sleep? How do you fight through the fatigue and foul mood? For me, it is about staying busy. When I have down time is when I remember how tired I am, whereas, when I am busy I forget about my exhaustion and find myself focusing on the task at hand.

Lack of sleep is inevitable sometimes. We all have sleepless nights for various reasons. However, we cannot let it ruin our productivity or mood. I love to sleep as much as the next person, but I also love my life and don’t want to miss a single minute of it complaining or being frustrated. Try to find joy in the everyday. Try not to focus on your tiredness, for you will get another chance to rest again soon.
