How much time do you spend on your self? How much self-care do you include in your daily routine? If you answered zero for these questions, I would like to ask you to consider making self-care a priority in your life.
Self-care does not have to take tons of time. We are only talking 10-15 minutes a day, but if you have time for more, that is great too! Self-care is something you do just for you and just for the sake of making you feel good. This is not taking a shower, drinking water, or sleeping. I am talking about intentional things you do not necessarily need to do to survive.
Here are some examples of self-care:
- Reading a chapter in a book you enjoy.
- Singing.
- Taking a short walk.
- Meditating.
- Exercising.
- Playing with animals/ pets.
- Writing/ Journaling.
- Painting your nails.
- Coloring or drawing.
- Sitting in the sunshine.
Whatever you choose to do, make sure it is a source of stress relief, not a source of stress. If it makes you anxious, it is not self-care. Adding these activities into your daily life will not only help you to feel better but will increase your mood and productivity. Give yourself the break you deserve!
